Our project’s goal is to race the 4L Trophy with a modified 4L in order to drive with electricity and fuel. It’s a hard project but we believe it is not impossible. As I work on environment in my twelfth grade, I would like this race to take a new extent with renewable energies.
PROJECT
We think about competing for the 2019 RAID in order to have enough time to design a car able ro do the whole race. As the rule says, the car must look like the original but we believe anyway we have to modify the chassis and the suspensions because of the heavy weight of the solar panel and the batteries compared to the original car’s weight.
In a first place, we will buy a 4L in good condition to limit the fixing over the car body and the car’s base.
Here is the list of all the changes we will do:
- The car will be equipped of two electrical engines, each one on a rear wheel in addition to the heat engine in order to have a fully hybrid car.
- Then we will buy batteries to supply in energy the whole system, in addition to the solar panels.
We hope the construction to be over by July 2018 to perform the tests and to eventually be able to join the race.
